Thank you Trevor for your excellent article. Poor reffs appear to be a consistent problem at NL level goodness know what it is like below them. Do you have any answers to the problems, are you aware there was any assessor at the Woking game.
If you saw what happened in the Horsham vs Hornchurch game at Step 3, you'd see we get the cream of referees! I don't know how often they get assessed these days, again another side of the game where we don't tend to find out these things.
I would love to see us take some things from other sports and also to clamp down on how the man in the middle is treated by players. On the flip side I want ex-pro's to do the job, they know the game instead of the easy life.
I also would like to see more accountability from their side, players and managers get crucified for mistakes, some come out and admit that, admit when gaff's are made, they're human after all and I think they would actually get more respect, but is the game too far gone now for any of that?
